billQ Dashboard Widget

Picture 2-1

I use billQ to keep track of upcoming bills. Its a free service, web-based app that helps keep track and manager your upcoming bills. It supports SMS reminders as well as iCal support so I can keep up with my bills. They just recently released a Dashboard Widget for OSX which I find to be extremely awesome as I don’t have to visit the webpage anymore to see my upcoming bills and to mark them paid.

Dashalytics: Google Analytics Widget for your OS X Dashboard

Written by: Alec Peden - Posted in: software, wordpress

Picture 1-3

Ok, I admit it, I’m a statistics whore. I use Google Analytics since I’m Google’s bitch and Measure Map is closed for new accounts. For as little traffic I get, I still check my metrics everyday. It usually involves logging into my Wordpress Admin page and checking my reports page that Tantans plugin provides. Enter Dashalytics, a Dashboard Widget that provides Google Analytics data from the comfort of your own Desktop.

iCOS Dashboard Widget

Written by: Alec Peden - Posted in: comics, software

The iCOS Dashboard Widget, short for IComicsOnSale, allows you to browse and search which comic books are being released that week. It pulls it data from Diamond Comics Shipping List and features an iTunes-like interface which allows you to browse by the major publishers or by the type of media being released. Interface sports a search at the top to easily find titles and it supports smart lists, similar to smart playlists but no where near as powerful. Think of them as saved title searchs. If you like Superman, you can make a smart list with Superman and it will show you ever title that has Superman being release that week. Great for keep taps on your favorite comics. I’ve been looking for an widget like this for ages.
