NBC announced there 2006-07 prime-time schedule today and one show stood out. Its called Heroes and looks to be a generic super-hero drama. With Ali Larter as a stripper?. Ok NBC, I’ll bite.

Ali-Larter2

HEROES — The epic drama Heroes chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. As a total eclipse casts it shadow across the globe, viewers follow a genetics professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy, Blind Guy Driving) in India whose father’s disappearance leads him to uncover a secret theory — there are people with super powers living among us. A young dreamer (Milo Ventimiglia, The Bedford Diaries) tries to convince his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, Judging Amy) that he can fly. A high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere, Ice Princess) learns that she is totally indestructible. A Las Vegas stripper (Ali Larter, Final Destination), struggling to make ends meet to support her young son (Noah Gray-Cabey, My Wife & Kids), uncovers that her mirror image has a secret. A prison inmate (Leonard Roberts, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) mysteriously finds himself waking up outside of his cell. A gifted artist (Santiago Cabrera, Empire), whose drug addiction is destroying his life and the relationship with his girlfriend (Tawny Cypress, Third Watch), can paint the future. A down-on-his-luck beat cop (Greg Grunberg, Alias) can hear people’s thoughts, including the secrets of a captured terrorist. In Japan, a young man (Masi Oka, Scrubs) develops a way to stop time through sheer will power. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world. Heroes is executive produced by creator/writer Tim Kring (Crossing Jordan), Dennis Hammer (Crossing Jordan) and David Semel (House), who also directed the pilot. The drama is from NBC Universal Television Studio.

Lost is found. The best theory to date.

Written by: Alec Peden - Posted in: tv

Most Lost theories, and there are many, are total crap, but this is by far the best and most thought out one I’ve seen so far.

Picked this up on digg today. Really good theory that i would like to see be right for a change. The whole collective conscious theory gives everything a so much deeper meaning. I remember when i was watching Serial Experiments Lain and they were touching on a lot of cyberpunk themes. There was something called the Wired which not unlike our Internet, connected people together. The difference was it used Carl Yung’s collective unconscious theory. The Wired was connecting everyone using Schumann resonance. Electromagnetism using a very low frequency, somewhere between 5-10Hz. So instead of wires and input devices to connect us, i.e. the internet, the Wired connected everyone using there minds all running at this low frequency. Most people will see the similarities to the Matrix. Some really good food for thought stuff here. I really enjoyed Lain and am a little bit more excited to see if Lost is using this kinda background as a plot basis. I do think i will break out the Lain DVDs this weekend and watch them again as my interest is now piqued again.

AOTS Casting Call

Written by: Alec Peden - Posted in: life, tv

Just got back from the casting call for Attack of the Show! in NYC. Call was from 1-5pm, so i hopped the 12:00pm train into GCT and got there about 1:40pm. Decided to walk down to W 29th St since it wasn’t too bad of a walk. Got down there at around 2:00pm and was pretty easy to find since the line was half way down the street. So i get in line and ask the guys in front of me where to get the paper work. Was told a casting director was passing it out. So I waited in line for almost 3hrs in the 95 degree heat. Bunch of us in line were just bullshitting about everything, game, G4, music etc. Was good times. Finally the line started moving quick and they were taking 10 people at a time by the end. I really think they had made up there mind before NYC because they didn’t even seem to actually interview anyone. When i got up there, they had all 10 of line up, state our names and where we were front. Then asked us what kinda segment we would want for ourselves. That was it. Oh and they gave us the paper work to fill out when we got to the casting room. At that point i was so hungry, tired, hot and just wanted to get out of there, i didn’t even try when filling out the paper work. One of the questions was “What makes you a nerd” and all i put was the names of the Icy Hot Stuntaz down. So ya, I’m not going to be the next co-host of AOTS but fuck ya i tried.

Here is my Flickr pool of some pictures i took with my camera phone while there.
