I know Live Mail is replacing Hotmail but this is clearly a desktop app. Now in the last Vista build i used, Feb CTP, Outlook Express is now called Microsoft Mail. This looks to be a different product altogether which doesn't make any sense to me. What possible reason would then need two seperate desktop clients. I have nothing against Microsoft but they are flooding the market with redundant products. 7 versions of Vista? wtf.

I'm not sure about the "Desktop", but "Windows Live Mail" will be a Hotmail replacement. It's Microsoft's anser to Gmail. It will be part of a new suite of online tools under the blanket name of "Windows Live". Check out this link for more info...

FYI... the link doesn't show the proper info if you're on a Mac, you get redirected. It may do the same thing if you try to view it on a PC using Firefox. many of the Windows Live "features" only work in IE.
