My problem is A - When Desmond Tell's Jack he remembers him, why doesnt Jack tell the rest that he knew Desmond before the accident? B - Why hasnt Micheal told them that he used the computer to speak to walt. C - Why hasnt John told them that before the accident he couldnt walk.

I think if they keep going on the way series 2 has gone, people will get bored and tune out. At least with series one we had suprises most weeks which left us dying to see the next episode. With this Series it isnt the case.

The theory touches on the 108mins and computer:

Much of the Orientation film and what Desmond says is false and purely to ensure that our heroes press those bloody buttons every 108 minutes. The purpose is threefold: to provide a focus for the community - a reason to go on and something 'meaningful' that goes beyond rational decision-making; secondly, to protect the hatch/power-supply/scientists behind the concrete; and, thirdly, to download the information from the Oersted satellite as it orbits the Earth every 108 minutes (please Google this) to get the latest on the magnetic poles.

But the whole Lain thing was independent of the Lost theory. I just went off on a tangent as the collective conscious aspects reminded me of the collective unconscious in Lain.

Btw, nice review. I definitely bookmarked the site.

Hmmm, Ok, then what's with the computer shut-off 108 minutes then? And why would they be using such an antiquaited computer if this were a collective unconscious "wired" idea? Although, it does sort of explain what happened to Walt if you use that lens...

BTW, if interested, a review of Lain with screencaps:
